The DNC and the DLC are distinct and separate. Last week, we had the announcement that Dean had the support of 32% of the DNC that could declare a preference. No other candidate exceeded half of that number, so Dean is clearly the front-runner with the DNC.

I understand the distinction and I saw the poll results from last week. My point, which I did not articulate well, was that the DNC leadership was not yet on board with Dean. Dean may currently have the support of a plurality of the DNC members, but he will not control the apparatus until McAuliffe is retired. I don't expect McAuliffe to roll over for Dean.
