Raymond, yesterday I was at my dentist, and while he and the dental hygienist were examining my teeth (not on video for public amusement, fortunately), they talked about the capture of Saddam. Almost a verbatim recitation of the spin you hear on TV. One can be relieved any time a brutal dictator is put away, but I heard no mention at all of the US role there, how Saddam was created by the US, Halliburton contracts, the cost to the US, or any of that. Given that they had needles and drills in my mouth, I chose not to enter the fray <g>.

I am convinced that the biggest coup the RWEs have pulled has been the near complete takeover of television and radio news and commentary - and that a good 2/3 or 3/4 of Americans rely on this for their information. Any depth of thought or exploration of historical evolutions (except for those who have the RWE agenda and know exactly what they're doing) is just too taxing - only a change in their personal condition via the economy, job threat, or war/terrorism going badly will sway this group from groupthink. The seekers of truth who want to disseminate the full story have their work cut out for them, and the internet won't reach all the people who need to be reached.
