Internap Awarded Contract to Support Fast Search & Transfer

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 2004--

Bundled Internap Services Package to Power Enterprise Web Search Tools for Rapidly Growing International Technology Company

Internap(R) Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), the leading provider of performance-based routing services over the Internet, announced today that Fast Search & Transfer(TM) (FAST)(TM), the leading developer of enterprise web search and real-time alerting technologies, has selected Internap to support its enterprise search business in North America. Internap is delivering FAST a complete solution of managed IP, security and colocation services.

Internap is providing a gigabit Ethernet connection from its Private Network Access Point (P-NAP) in Boston. FAST will co-locate enterprise search applications with Internap, benefiting from Internap's high performance connectivity model, which intelligently routes traffic over the best performing network of every major domestic IP backbone. Internap is also supplying FAST with managed security services (MSS), including firewall and intrusion detection systems.

This bundled IP, MSS and colocation services offer enables Internap to provision FAST with an integrated, "best-in-class" network performance and security solution while maintaining a single point-of-contact for customer service, billing and issue resolution.

"We chose Internap based on its ability to positively impact the delivery of real-time data filtering and search technology to our enterprise customers," said Ali I. Riaz, chief operating officer at FAST. "FAST is a rapidly growing, dynamic company, so we were equally impressed with Internap's ability to offer a complete range of services to accommodate our unique business needs."

FAST guarantees service level agreements (SLAs) to its customers based on criteria such as query response time and uptime. Internap will support FAST's underlying data filter and search technologies, exceeding the necessary performance metrics on availability, packet loss and latency.

"FAST's robust search technology facilitates transactions by extracting meaningful information from vast reservoirs of unstructured data," said Dave Abrahamson, vice president of sales and chief marketing officer at Internap. "Internap's intelligent routing capabilities enable FAST to run these applications more efficiently and with greater success than simple, tier one commodity access."

Based in Oslo, Norway, FAST has its regional headquarters in Boston and maintains a strong presence throughout Europe and Japan. The company is ranked second on the 2003 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in Europe. FAST's customers include many of the largest global companies and organizations in vertical markets and applications including e-Commerce and Internet Portals, Financial Services; Government; Life Sciences; Media and Publishing; and Telecom.
