I missed the ABC documentary about why Americans are so fat. I did catch some documentary about Garth Brooks. Two of his three young daughters are FAT as in puffy-cheek, pig-eyed little porkers. I happened to spot the headline of Capital Press - the self- "Serving Farm and Ranchers" agriculture weekly and purchased it. They called the ABC show "bunk". They stated that children are fat because they watch too much tv. Children have been watching tv for over 50 years, they did not get fat until recently. The little puff balls walking around in huge numbers today were anamolies ten years ago. This recent fat phenomenon developed within the past six or so years. Why? Because the "meat and dairy producers have three times the subsidies of grain producers". Fats and oil producers have 20 times more subsidies than fruit and vegetables. Twice as many fruits and vegetables would have to be planted for Americans to sustain a healthy diet". That's not going to happen. Milk (It doesn't do any body good) has been tainted with hormones, antibiotics since 1995. Clear or translucent milk jugs that sit under flourescent lighting for 24 hours lose ALL vitamin content. A person may as well be drinking chalk mixed with lard. The little fatties of today will become the diabetics with blown knee caps of tomorrow. They learn nothing in school. This country is a mess - a big Mac, greasy fries, tainted milk and government cheese disaster.
