Now, we have no PC upgrade cycle and no recovery in business spending... how come... because IT is offshore! For gods sake IT IS business spending.

Just how frequently can we upgrade or should we upgrade our PCs when they, in general are far more than we need. More speed and even more storage...more ram and faster ram.

PCs have fast taken a near identical slot to the Hi-Fidelity industry and their huge boom in the 60s and 70s. Greater and great specs were sold to a public that didn't have the capacity, literally the ability to hear the difference. Find a Stereo store that doesn't make it's money installing in vehicles. All the former STEREO stores of the past are gone. Some small ones remain and they generally provide sound systems for business and upscale homes.

The greater sales attractive to people at this time are the flat screen panels and HD TV.

People already have more phone features than they can use. The only thing driving the new phone sales are user contracts that feature free or near free "feature phones" with their service contracts. The only real purpose to exploitation of the new features is for the advertising of the sales contract. You don't often see cell phones advertised by the manufacturer. You see the phone and features imbedded in the sales hook for the services contract.

My wife works in IT and is getting a lot of overtime. The temp workers from India couldn't handle the jobs and are being phased out. Doing new hires at her place, American hires.
