it does raise questions about security.


Security is a show. Too many targets, too few people. We can't turn the country into a garrison state. In this case, a high profile target of symbolic value.

re:airport security.The dirty little secret that doesn't seem to ever get enough press is that those machines that scan your carry-ons either don't work,or are not turned on all the time by the operators.

Case in point. Last spring my girlfriend went through West Palm Beach and the Memphis airports security check with a six inch knife in her purse on the same day.She had totally forgotten her mother had given it to her as a keepsake from her deceased father while visiting.Threw it in her purse and forgot.

Airport security is still a farce.I sure hope it doesn't take a 747 crashing into a nuclear power plant to get this figured out.
