I started watching HBO just to see The Sopranos, and got hooked. They try hard to have something original on Sunday nights, and it doesn't get much more original than The Sopranos. I then got hooked on The Wire, especially because it covers the same ground as my former favorite, Homicide, which is no more. Then Six Feet Under, then Carnivale.

Sex and the City never appealed to me.

Compared to what used to be on Sunday nights when I was a kid, like Ed Sullivan and Bonanza, HBO is brilliant.
