This thread deals with foreign policy. From a policy standpoint the invasion of Iraq has been a disaster and is likely to continue to be a disaster. Having a trophy (Saddam) to hang on the wall does not make any difference. As for whether or not Iraqis are "happy", they will be happy when we leave town, unless of course they find that they now must live through a generation of civil war and/or live the rest of their lives under American occupation with with a puppet government fronting for America. A unilateral invasion of Iraq was a bad policy decision based on a bad policy framework. Nothing in recent days changes that one bit.
