All of the South American killings in the 1970's combined that you were carping about do not equal the Saddam killings that you admit to, let alone what he actually did.

Just counting El Salvador and Guatemalan murders would get you well over half a million.

This is NOT intended as a "defense" of Saddam, though.

However, not too many people in the Bush admin are eager to allow "truth and justice" to shine a light on central or south america of the 70s or 80s. Especially Eliot Abrams of course, but others as well.
