Is anyone having problems with Dell meeting their committed ship dates for products ordered within the past six weeks?

I order a 19 inch Ultrasharp LCD FP Monitor as was told it would ship on December 8. A few days before the ship date, I was informed that the Monitor would ship on December 22. Today, I was notified that the ship date would be January 7.

Dell tells me that they have a shortage of these Monitors. What ever happened to Dell's vaulted material control system? Is this the best they can do? Last year I had the same problem with the Company. So, this makes two strikes and I guess they are out. I've decided to buy my future computers, and peripherals from local stores. Or, just built my own PC's.

IMO, Dell has grown to a size where they have now lost contact with the customer. At least the retail customer. Their customer service and tech support are useless. Going off shore was the biggest mistake Dell has made. It's going to cost them customers. To bad, they once were a great company.
