You knew it would detract from his diatribe. Also, when Walsh says things like, "American media coverage of the Hussein arrest, so heavy-handed, so “over the top,” contains a pathological element" He is only stating his opinions...not facts. The word 'pathology' doesn't even apply. That word is only applied to illness or specific unhealthy behavior not meaningless phrases like 'heavy-handed' and 'over-the-top'. It is clear that Walsh used that word to apply to opinions he simply doesn't agree with. I suspect he used the word 'pathological' because it made his weak argument sound very clinical and scientific, when really it was nothing more than an ad-hominem attack on the press. The coverage of Hussein's capture was a drop-in-the-bucket- compared to coverage of 911. So, I guess that was pathological too. I understand that this morning a Baghdad newspaper which featured articles and pictures of the captured Saddam Hussein sold-out almost immediately. Pathological behavior? According to you and Walsh, I guess it is. The article is rife with opinions seen through Walsh's jaundiced socialist peepers. Most of the world cheered to Hussein's capture, but not the socialists nor the pan-arab nationalists. They, like you, loathe every victory by America. Well, stay tuned guy, they'll be a lot more American victories in the days to come. Trust me on this. Hussein was a gutless coward. He will die a coward's death. Defend his mystique if you like. He never had any. What he had was raw power which he abused and misused on his way to killing 1/2 million of his fellow muslims. It was a great day when this murderer was captured and it's small wonder that the world's press celebrated the event and gave it the attention it so richly deserved.
