And inflation means higher interest rates which in turn means higher mortgage payments since a lot of people have bought homes beyond their means and so have used 3/1 ARM, 5/1 ARM etc., and will be hit by the higher rates. That in turn means a stagnant economy. So the stage is set for a long period of stagflation that can last years. I can't see how the Dow will stay above 5000 in the coming years.
