The big white bear of the Arctic has scared many for years, but we see Falco building a huge project in the Ungava, while Inco hassled with the newfies, and I will bet that not 1 investor in 100 knows what Raglan is all about -- its mine life, and why it did not go ahead for 35 years. It is the trailblazer in northern CDN mine building despite Nanisivik, Polaris, and the Black Angel. Some of the trouble with starting mines in Canada has to do with Federal and provincial policy, which is based on knee jerk pine stripe generalist thinking about a flight to paper pushing services, supposedly and the abandonment of smoke stack culture. I think the way to go, is to solve the problems of effluent production.. for which BTW, mining is not the worst offender. Tuna fish do not get PCB's and mercury from mining. I know there are solutions to these problems, but it sickens me to think that it is in the hands of people who haven't got a clue what the problem is in the first place. They are truly the ones who criticize the mote in mining's eye when the beam of dirt is in the eye of politics of society and their general ignorance. It runs far deeper than people know. It is time for CDN's to get off their keisters and support some industry in this country and build what we do best. We are not going to sell colour television sets to the Japanese or computer operating systems to the US. We could make em, but they won't buy em, so it is moot. And if pin stripe seat sitters don't like the level of tech that mining is at, let them find a way to break rock and suck metal out of it at parts per million levels efficiently at today's prices, and they will get more respect for the level of invention necessary to do real work in the world. It may not be rocket science but it might help to be one if you want to mine at the top of the heap and the bottom of the pit. EC<:-}
