Where are the jobs then? You can't have a boom without jobs
because it takes employed people to actually buy products.
Much of the spending has been fueled by low interest refis, people spending the equity in their homes and rolling over credit card debt. Sooner or later though the piper has to be paid. The federal government is also spending like money is going out of style. The dollar has dropped 20% so foreigners can better afford to buy up our assets. War is also temporarily good for the economy but has to be paid for later. If you're in a business which is doing well that's great, but try to find venture capital. Try to get anyone to pay retail. Try to start a new business. It's still tough out there. It's called trickle-down voodoo economics. It's a short-term high in exchange for years and years later of having to pay off debts. Same thing happened after the Reagan boom but this time it's worse. We will survive, but we are already a 20% devalued economy.
