The same reason the stock's price is not much higher!

Apple's earnings were shockingly small.

And that seems to be the result of Apple's heavy-duty R&D spending. So I suppose Apple should just quit doing that?

back out the cash that apple has on hand and it doesn't seem that overvalued. If you just take apple's pe and don't include its hard assets that are easy to quantify, it is easy to see apple as overvalued right now.
