As for the research that apple has been doing the past several years, we may be starting to see the benefits of that now with the music business, the g5 as well as another major revision to the os. The big question is will it be sustainable. Market right now is saying that it doesn't think so. If apple can continue to innovate in addition to increasing revs and earnings, the market may think otherwise. But it is taking a show me attitude right now when it comes to apple.

Jobs told everyone some time ago that Apple was going to innovate its way out of the economic doldrums. Apple is following that plan precisely and they have essentially maintained a steady course - making them a "channeling stock" dot.com - hummmm. ;)

Now to grow, they have to concentrate on getting back into the enterprise. They seem to have started that effort in earnest recently by hiring the Oracle guy. Oracle has a relentless corporate sales team - that's what Ellison is very good at. Sort of like the house-to-house selling of Kirby or Electrolux vacuum cleaners in years past.
