From what I read (I went to Amazon also) I can't tell if it'll play Mp3s...I'd guess maybe not. Most DVD players will read a burned music CD if they are burned in a standard CD format (12-25 or so songs on a CD...but many DVD players will not read or play an MP3 format disk (110 plus songs on a Cd disk).

This one will read anything he wants to throw at it...it's silver and it ain't a Sony but it's cheaper and most people like it.
