Yes, BE and 53% of them still believe Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9/11.

Saddam's capture is a short-term symbolic blip. It's actually something that should have happened at the beginning of the war, not 9 months later. If the violence in Iraq subsides then it will be meaningful, if it doesn't, it will be as forgotten as the deaths of Saddams sons. You also have to worry about other hot spots in the world.

We'll see. Bush has indeed gotten better numbers this week, but he's still fundamentally weak and vulnerable. His war is still a big mess with no one to replace Saddam yet. There is a lot of high-level corruption yet to be recognized. His economy is a lot weaker than some are saying. There may be very few jobs created despite the biggest spending of all time. His medicare bills is partly massive corporate welfare as well as massive debt spending and most seniors don't like it. etc.

Bush is still beatable. Just takes the right candidate. The big debate now is whether Dean is the one or not. I don't think he is, though I will certainly back him if he gets the nom. Very probably most people will want a change in November 2004. People were after all better off five years ago. Enough is enough.
