That's what they said in 1992. Bush Sr. was at 90% approvals after the Gulf War which was a much more successful foray than GW's Iraq. Both Bushes had lousy economies. Bush Sr. started tryng to balance the books. GW isn't even thinking about balancing the books just more and more massive spending and hoopla. Bush Sr. did have one big aditional problem though and that was Ross Perot.

Capturing Saddam made for a nice week for Bush but if you really think about it it wasn't that much of an achievement. They missed getting Saddam a hundred times previously. The first bomb of the war was supposed to have killed Saddam. Also, by now Saddam is a harmless shell of his old self. Convict him for his many sins but don't assume his capture really changes anything. Now someone else is running the anti-American attacks. We still dont even know who that is. We all hope Iraq gets better and better but boy oh boy what a big sham most of the war hype has been. Not a single WMD anywhere.
