It would have saved many more lives to let the inspections and no-fly zones be enforced for another year or two. We had nothing to lose, and everything to gain. The military would likely have had enough resources to get Osama, and the "real killers". It was irresponsible to drop the ball, kill tens of thousands, damage goodwill around the world, and arouse hatred from a few million more Islamists. It provided temporary political and financial gain for GOP insiders, not the rest of Americans.
