Because it suited their purposes, the Bush Admin used 9-11 as an excuse to start the "war on terror" - a war that has resulted in far more deaths than occurred on 9-11. 9-11 was a criminal act and should have been dealt with on criminal basis. It's root cause can be directly traced to a cultural friction. And that should be dealt with on a cultural basis. The article you posted, outlined several good ideas in this cultural interaction that should be pursued. There is little chance of that happening until there is a change in the White House. If you have the typical RW mindset that views the world through a fearful paranoid lens. and believe the only way to deal with problems is to simplistically beat them into submission, then you react to a Hubbert's oil peak problem with preemptive war to establish a worldwide hegemony.
