he may be too venal

.....funny...that has come to my mind lately also. It was the quick call to congratulate on Saddam and the whining about Iraq contracts that caught my attention. Prior to that was the beating about the head by smoke and eagle feathers followed by Adrian Clarkson tripping the light fantastic all over his space and moment. This trying to be "all things to all people" is makin me nervous. Before he spends his way to re-election (make that uni-election) with a new "birdbrain" soft program I wish we'd just hunker down and have an election. I do support his fiscal belt tightening in order to maintain health care.

I agree with you that we definitely/desperately need to start doing business with other than just the US. Geez..we're only 32,000,000 people. Our needs from a global market share are miniscule.

Having said all this, I don't miss JC and the boys. This country definitely needs a visionary to instill enthusiasm. IMO the US has military adventurism to fill that role. Flags, flags and more flags and despite the occaisional whacking, it appears to serve them well.

I wonder what ralph thinks? <gg>

Cheers
