You either count the dead, or you don't.

That's non-partisan, non-demoninational, non-theological, and simple common sense. You don't even have to be humanitarian, it's necessary military data.

It's a difficult spot for those who try to justify ignoring enemy dead. There are no excuses. In the heat of battle in Vietnam those counts were done, accurately or inaccurately, but they were done. Once done, they are open to discussion, which the administration does not want.
