The problem we are going to have is that the media will really build up the Dem candidate, and "balance" it. They look upon that as "fair." It's not an "Evil Cabal" on their part, it's just the way they think. I don't even attribute this part of it to bias, conscious or unconscious. When it comes to campaigns, the media is very, very pro-horserace, and will do everything in their power to give the impression of a close campaign even if all the pros know it's going to be a landslide.
