Why should unemployment benefits be extended again and again? What was wrong with the original unemployment benefit rules?

They've been extended enough. Some people don't have jobs. That's always the case. The number of people that don't have jobs is fairly consistent with the historical average.

Of course. Of course it would be twice the stimulus if the act of doing work put the money into their hands. Of course, the more people get paid and consume things without doing work in return, the less there is to go around, and the worse off we must become.
