Most definitely!! And, emphatically yes if groups bearing these symbols or activities have caused violence or there is a reasonable assumption that those symbols are intended to cause hate and fear. The school has an absolute right, indeed, an obligation; to keep their students safe from violence.

Keep in mind that cross burnings, swastikas and gang colors have nothing to do with the free expression of religion.

Actually, it is an easy issue. Wearing a yarmulke, scarf or crucifix in a classroom is not the same as advocating violence nor a religious belief. It's a harmless symbolic act of faith and nothing more.

I swear, sometimes I wonder who makes up these fake 'controversies'.
