Re: As a taxpayer I know that when "workers are not eligible for benefits" it means that I, as a CA taxpayer get to pick up the tab for Safeway.

PBS's NOW had a segment on this last night. Wal-Mart actually has a corporate policy of helping its staff to find public services for medical emergencies, etc. This is pure sleaze.
