Your friends would have decent jobs that pay 25% more if Wal-Mart were outlawed. They are the most invasive weed species of mutant cancerous capitalism that America has endured since A&P captured the supermarket trade in the 1920s and drove down wages and prices. Wal-Mart is leading the charge on the race to the bottom. They are destroying more value than they are creating, and they are parasites on society. They are planning a massive invasion of Southern California which has precipitated a preemptive action by Safeway, Ralph's, Von's and Albertsons to destroy family wage jobs and replace them with junk jobs with no benefits, no security and no future. If you read the transcript that comes with the PBS NOW program info at their website, you'll read about how Wal-Mart backstabbed Century City, CA, took $180 Million in tax rebates, and just about as their payments were coming due to the City's coffers, they've decided to abandon their nearly new store and build four others in adjacent communities. Century City was not smart enough to require a payment bond from Wal-Mart, so Wal-Mart has just swindled the City out of that $180 Million. Wal-Mart is trash people doing trash business in a trash manner creating a trash future.
