You see, there's someone out there whose just 20 years old, the same age Saddam once was when he began organizing power politics. But I guess you might believe the world will just absolutely love and adore America by the time this young Saddam wanna-be ascends into any kind of influential role, and, of course, no one will follow because they just absolutely love and adore America. Saddam's capture means nothing. What happens when a drug dealer is caught? Someone else takes over, that's what. The world will not be safer until the reasons for hatred of America are genenuinely dealt with. Unfortunately, I don't see this happening any time soon--certainly not with GOPwingers at America's helm. >>>Sadam is gone.<<< He is? Seems to me Saddam's got a verbal world stage now. If allowed, he'll present a trial that will go to extraordinary lengths to implicate America's militaristic policies within the region. Think anyone will pay attention? Or will they still be hung up on Michael Jackson by the time Saddam speaks out? >>>The terrorists training camps have been shut down in Afghanistan.<<< This must be why America's Terrorist Alert barometer just got raised to orange. >>>Libya has agreed to dispose of their WMD.<<< Why do GOPwingers always delete the operative term "programs?" You could probably find a research department in any university anywhere in the world that has a "program" related to WMD. Fact is, Gaddafi made an oil deal with U.S. interests and, thus, got taken off the list. Hey, it wasn't that long ago that GOPwingers were condemning his nation because it took its rotating turn has chair of the UN Human Rights Commission, even though there'd been very significant signs of Libya's policies had already changed. This Libya WMD story is classic Bush spoonfed propaganda. In journalism, this is called a feel-good piece. >>>Bin laden is in a cave.<<< Humanity once crawled out of a cave. Now it has been reduced to bombing them. Odd, ain't it? >>>Funding for AlQueda has been severely restricted.<<< How much did it cost Al Qaeda to sponsor 9/11? Unfortunately, even had the current restrictions been in place then, they still would have had enough money to pull off 9/11. >>>Countries around the world are afraid to support terrorism.<<< Oh really? I didn't know that. Who told you this? >>>We haven't had a major terrorist strike in the US since 9/11.<<< Let's pray we don't have another one. But illegally invading Iraq doesn't help the odds that this won't happen again. I fail to understand how pissing off more Arabs by putting a US military occupational force within the region can limit the number of would-be terrorists. In fact, we're creating more of them. And the more there are, the greater the odds that we will see another 9/11-type event. And, as time goes, I suspect that what may be an election cycle to Mr. Bush might prove to be a five or 10-year time cycle for would-be terrorists. The fundamentalist Muslim movement believes Muslims have been repressed for centuries. What's a year or few to them? All of this Homeland Security spending--although some measures are sensible--is a waste of taxpayer money, and represents more a condition of fear politics over genuinely frightened people. >>>We're obviously safer thanks to our administrations actions.<<< You think so, huh? I only wish it were so. But it ain't!
