As long as Bush is on his totally counterproductive Rambo/religious rampage, there will be massive "blowback" against the United States. George Bush is the single greatest threat to America's safety today. His arrogant looting and racism in Iraq is unquestionably raising the ire of thousands if not millions of fighters willing to battle against such an ugly and dishonest man.

But illegally invading Iraq doesn't help the odds that this won't happen again. I fail to understand how pissing off more Arabs by putting a US military occupational force within the region can limit the number of would-be terrorists. In fact, we're creating more of them. And the more there are, the greater the odds that we will see another 9/11-type event. And, as time goes, I suspect that what may be an election cycle to Mr. Bush might prove to be a five or 10-year time cycle for would-be terrorists. The fundamentalist Muslim movement believes Muslims have been repressed for centuries. What's a year or few to them?
