A local Cleveland stations had a snippet on biometrics and immigration. They spent a minute explaining iris and finger printing biometrics. Then they went on to show how it will screw up the border crossings from Mexico to the US at San Diego. Just a few seconds of checking each person would back the lines for miles and miles.
It left a message that biometrics just won’t work.

One positive is people are being exposed to biometrics.
