The "Contract with America" was a momentous achievement.

What planet do you live on? Gingrich was able to get almost all of the provisions of Contract on America through the House in a marathon session in 1995. Then it died in committee in the Senate. Am I wrong about this? :)

I am reminded of all those Congressional Reps ( mostly Republicans ) who pledged to limit their terms and are now backing away from that committment. Nethercutt in Washington is one of them. Hutchinson in Texas refuses to discuss the issue.
