a whole lot of journalists visited the site of Saddam's capture, such as Fisk, who can hardly be called a shill of the USA Office of Disinformation [which has been disbanded, nudge, nudge].

I recall it took at least a couple of weeks before the Private Jessica Rambo story became partially discredited by the Toronto Star, and about a month before the BBC picked up the story and destroyed the last shreds of Department of Death credibility. So, this Saddam saga is gonna simmer a bit longer before we pull the meat off the bones.

when Saddam disappeared, my guess was that he would be right where they found him,

Not me. Being conspiratorially minded, I figured he'd get airlifted out like Osama and a thousand of his closest friends were from Kunduz, Afganistan the week of November 20, 2001.

I'm an atheist, but the point of that Jesus bloke was to move away from the Roman Empire dominance hierarchy

I'm toying around with an old term that was applied to a lot of the Founding Fathers of the U.S. and Abe Lincoln. They were called deists. Which is an odd term because apparently they accept that God exists, but figure he gave up on organizing the universe straightaway instead of putting in six days labor. As an aristocratic group in general, I can see how they'd be attracted to this notion.

We are in the process of creating God, or perhaps more modestly, a Godly node in our little corner of the galaxy.

Keep me posted. Who's got the licensing rights? Sounds pretty lucrative.

George Bush claims to be a Christian. Snicker.

Now, do go getting all uppity on me. He's just that special kind of Christian that has engaged in a couple millenia of bloodletting. Nothing wrong with that. Another atheist had a pretty good insight into the breed:

"The greatness of Christianity did not lie in attempted negotiations for compromise with any similar philosophical opinions in the ancient world, but in its inexorable fanaticism in preaching and fighting for its own doctrine." -- Adolph Hitler, "Mein Kampf" Vol. 1 Chapter 12

"Don't let a slogan do your thinking for you".

I'm afraid this may severely limit your chances in the megalomania field.

And to all a g'day........

Merry Christmas, Mq to you and yours! :)
