That's interesting. Perhaps it's just that Rangel sees everything from a racism perspective. There's a lot of that going around. I admit to a certain sentimentality for the draft. At one time it was a way for people who wouldn't ordinarily mix to mix in a constructive way. The great equalizer. Don't think that's a good enough reason to reconstitute it, though. It also serves to give everyone a greater stake in international adventures. I'll bet we wouldn't have gone to war in Iraq if there were a draft in place. Come to think of it, that might be a good enough reason. <ggg>
