Samsung set to expand chip market in China

Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest maker of computer memory chips, yesterday announced that it set up a research and development center in Suzhou, China, as the company aims to expand its Chinese market to make it the second-largest cash cow after the United States.

Samsung Electronics Device Solutions Network Business said it laid the foundations for the Semiconductor 3 Line and China R&D center last Friday in the eastern Chinese city during a ceremony attended by Lee Yun-woo, president of Samsung Electronics DSNB, and Wang Min, Party Secretary of Suzhou.
