I will be very curious as to how many iPod sales are going to Windows users....Each of those sales represent an opportunity to expose them to the friendly user experience that makes AAPL what it is...And just maybe there be a "few" switchers from that group as well...

Merry Xmas to you all!

Thanks Don! ... You know, Christmas is this coming Thursday, but I'll take it any way. Merry Christmas right back at you!

I bought my son Panther and an iSight camera. He's already got it. Unfortunately, I don't have one. But, we did already do a live video conference, because I have the old Canon ZR45 MC. It really worked well, even though my own initial set up went a little rough. The Canon has a battery save timer that shuts it down if you don't pull the trigger for 15 minutes. It even shuts down when it is plugged in. However, I found that if you set it to record to card and plug it in, it stays on.

His family is in Thibodaux, LA. I'm just under Detroit, MI. It is a totally unique experience that is difficult to describe. On the one hand, it seems like you are both there in the same room, but on the other it seems like you're talking to the TV set. But, it's way better than just voice over IP.

To give some perspective on the corporate desktop market ... at work they just forced us to upgrade all of our network from Windows NT to Windows 2000. Although not impressive, it is a good thing because it allowed me to download and install iTunes at work. For some reason, perhaps known only to the corporate IT department, the program wont load its ripping or iTMS browsing parts. I loaded 155 mp3s from a CD anyway and now have a balls out music player to show off. Just thought the board might be interested in how slooow corporations are to adopt changes in technology.

<<Neal "even if apple doubled its market share, expect to hear people say, well, they still only have 6 percent of the market. No matter what apple does, for some, it will never be good enough."
Actually it would make a huge difference because it would show a real trend change. As I said my concern is when you consider all of the positive news and releases in the last few years little has changed to the fact or perception about Apple>>Don

I don't disagree with what you say here but my point was to say that apple could double its market share and there would still be people in tech and the media saying that apple is on the verge of going out of business. Lots of people out there with an agenda.

As for the mp3 player, whatever floats your boat. I like my new ipod and voice recorder, which again works by just plugging it in. Maybe apple will buy belkin since they seem to work so well together.

For everyone here, have a happy and a healthy holiday season and good luck in the new year.

Neal
