I've already stated I think the budget (non-defense) is a mess and that both Bush and the Republican Congress are at fault....

Don't tell anyone but that was the point....credibility. The Administration is claiming "fiscal restraint" and even you know that's a lie.

Compared to 40 years of demolib profligacy when the dems controlled the Congress....its not totally false but certainly stretches the envelope....

Let me refer you to the Constitution.....the budget process starts with the President submitting a budget request and ends with the President signing a set of appropriations bills.....you're response [parotted from that dope head, Rush] is "LOL, the President's budget request is DOA." .... after which I point to examples of when the Congress approved in their entirety, without any modification, the budget requests of Reagan and Bush....and then I point out that during Reagan's budget years the Senate was under Republican control for 6 of the 8 years....and then you mutter something unintelligible about the Democractic House ....as if they have some sort of magic control over the budget...ignoring that the Senate arguably has more power over the budget as they have the ability to override a Presidential veto....then you mutter some crock about Reagan respecting the legislative process....then I have to remind you that Reagan used his veto power the 8th highest of all the Presidents.....then I point you to the federal budget and note that there is no correlation to spending with who controls Congress; but there is a correlation between which party controls the Administration and spending and the correlation is that a GOP controlled White House increases spending at a higher rate than Democrats.

Then you mutter an unintelligible insult and/or sulk away until the next round.
