To be fair to Scott, the original Saddam capture fairy tale he posted came from Debka, not commondreams, see #reply-19596444 . But of course the endless stream of innuendo and intrigue from that reputable source has long been a staple here. Chinese Muslim troops massed at the Afghan boarder, Saudi troops massed at the Jordanian border, and on and on, but they allegedly know something about the middle east, snort.

The commondreams article was actually from sundayherald.com . I don't know anything about that particular rag, but I imagine the odds of that story being accurate are approximate the same as the odds of the Telegraph story on the alleged "proof" that Iraq was involved in 9/11 was accurate. Somehow, though, I didn't notice the local conservative truth squad worrying much about the Telegraph article either. Funny, that. Perhaps some intrigue and innuendo is more equal than others.
