Re: The Political Compass
I would be concerned about the bias of any analysis that has Carol Moseley Braun categorized as "right." Imagine her shock when she sees this. <gg>

My Dad and sister back in Illinois assure me that Mosely-Braun has no political philosophy. She's simply in the game for the money. I tend to believe 'em. :)

The fact that you don't agree with the Political Compass probably reflects more on the biases and blind spots of the skewed American public perception of reality than it reflects badly on the Poltical Compass.

I'm just starting Al Franken's hysterically funny "Liars, and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them". He makes the point in the intro that the CIA's Mighty Wurlitzer has complete control of the corporate media. The echo chamber of lies has even sucked you into thinking that someone like Braun ought to be considered a Leftie. Clearly by American standards, you have a case. But by world standards, Mosely-Braun is a classic right-of-center mediocrity. Recall that Political Compass is based in England. It reflects a more accurate assessment of the entire world's Compass, which is quite a bit to the left of the U.S.'s warped version of reality.

The Kerry placement is interesting, bolstering the contention that Kerry is really a liberal, not the "moderate" that AS believes him to be

That was also a revelation to me. Isn't it ironic how distorted the media here presents the story? The public, ill-served by the media, is inclined to believe Howard Dean is a dangerous leftist. The public is gullible enough to believe anything the media says. The fools.

I am looking forward to the annual ADA ratings.

Good grief, man. Is there hope for you yet? :)
