I don't think I said better, and I've no idea if it boils down to personal happiness. So I can't really agree with you on most of your post.

As for your cycles of starvation, they occurred all over the world- development can stop them. Africa is capable of being developed, imo. So you are wrong on at least that point.

It all boils down to boiling down missionaries unless they have a war over oregano and garlic, or the scarcity of missionaries (the latter probably wont happen) ...
