Maybe the canny Bush Administration masterminds realized the war would drive the left off the deep end.

As a non-Democrat, I admit I wasn't paying really close attention, but it seems to me that Clinton did well trying to take and hold the center. It further seems to me that Dean is turning up his nose at the center, and is striving for the votes of the hard left.

Is the center ready to sign on to Bush's National Security Strategy? I have no idea, and wish I knew.
