AB - Didn't SSTI also decline as well. There is a rotation going on at the moment into some Dow stocks and semis have clearly been reduced.

Unless we on this thread are all nuts then the SNDK is going to grow at a much more attractive rate than most Dow stocks.

Take a look at my post with the events of late 97 summarized. If it repeats itself then the stock won't pick up till Dec 30th.

Best,

L

Art,

re: Any earthshaking news that would explain the weakness?

Institutions are selling the stock because there is a risk to the perfect NAND shortage scenario. It's not just today. They could be right, they could be wrong. But they have more and better info than you have, that's guaranteed.

I sincerely hope you are right about SanDisk; it's a great company and deserves to do well (as it has). I just think it's sensible to be cautious with a stock that could be called a NAND "bubble" candidate, with it's recent appreciation.

Do as you will, but I think you should post a disclaimer that it's very dangerous to sell puts against any stock, and especially against a stock that has over-performed to the extent that SanDisk has. There are a lot of folks that can't afford that kind of almost bottomless risk. And I know there are some that really respect your opinion.

John

Any earthshaking news that would explain the weakness?

There was an earthquake on the West Coast and California fell into the Pacific.
Eli was set adrift toward uncharted waters using the CFO as a floatation device.
