Congrats on DRD Paul. You gotta believe, and hope, mgmt. holds out for more than $17 - with the stock above that threshold, the market does!

It was a case of coulda, shoulda, woulda and me with DRD a couple of weeks back, what with a "strong" flu season, and DRD perpetually being in play. Didn't pull the trigger, but, with the market at pretty lofty levels, I haven't been doing too much buying lately.

Yesterday I cut my Mercedes position (DCX), and now I'll add to Honda (HMC).

Both companies have their problems: DCX apparently with Mercedes quality and with Chrysler; Honda with Acura sales and product availability (lack of popular rear-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicles). Financial performance of HMC and its relative valuation seem to me (and I'm no expert) to be better with HMC than with the DCX.

Bought some more BMW preferred (non voting shares) for 22.5 Euro this am. The preferred have a deep discount to the ordinary shares with the only difference being the voting right and the slightly higher dividend for the preferred. Last years earnings were about 3 Euro - i think this year BMW should be able to do better than that, with the new 5,6,7 series out. They are about to launch a compact car in Europe - the 1 series. The US$ has recovered some compared to the Euro so the pressure from exchange rates will diminish. They should be able to make 3.5 Euro's this year.

Also as an additional bonus, the dividend for last year is still included in the shares, worth around .5 Euro.
