Ramsey, what the government creates, the government will regulate and should enforce. Knowing the huge house the former head of Freddie lives in--not far from where I live-- more power to the government for going after him. Knowing how much Grasso was pulling in at the NYSE, more power to the folks who are trying to get some of it back. That doesn't change the fact that Fannie/Freddie are probably here to stay. So is the NYSE. Doesn't mean any of them should be abolished, or are likely to be in the near future.
