You said, "I wonder whether Wal-Mart will continue to lower prices once they're a monopoly." I asked, "A monopoly of what?" meaning, what goods or services are they monopolizing? The answer may be "mass-produced and marketed items", i.e. licensed characters toys, where no other store can compete with Wal-Mart on price. Other stores will have to add value or find a niche speciality.
