<China's government sure has its hands full and an enormous task of spreading the wealth. > Bubba, that's what they've stopped trying to do when they started ditching the communism. Spreading wealth is the current weakness of the "West". Wealth isn't like so much cow manure to be spread around a garden. Wealth self-spreads as those with it buy things from those who want it and do something useful for those with it. It doesn't need governments to spread it. It needs governments to protect it and the transactions people make. The British lost the plot and the British Empire completely. Germany is struggling. The USA went through a bunch of welfarism and wealth spreading, but stopped the rot and has boomed. New Zealand is fully into spreading male bovine gastro-intestinal output over everything with an economic performance to match - from 3rd in world down to about 25th in thirty years. China adopted the maxims from Deng, "It's glorious to get rich" and the black cat and white cat catching mice. Their wealth has taken off as capital has flooded in and sales have flooded out. Wealth has spread from the rich west to the poor offspring of Mao's MADness as they've adopted the principles of wealth creation. Yiwu is full of the male bovine stuff and China's eventual limitations are written into their history already by Yiwu's hubris, arrogance, racism, authoritarianism, dominance hierarchy and tribal kleptocracy if that attitude is endemic. Those attributes are not the road to wealth in the modern era. They were fine in the old genocidal territorial tribal days of hunter-gatherer agrarian human societies when tyrannical Pharoahs and Emperors roamed Earth like Tyrannosaurs, now extinct. Those attitudes seem to come out in many people and countries who get rich. People still being chimpoids, it's not surprising. Maybe she'll change her ideas. People can and do. Sometimes not for the better. The true path to Nirvana is peace, light, harmony, happiness, health, prosperity, longevity, fun and love achieved through enlightenment, not those bad attitudes and ideas from the 19th century. As China adopts CDMA, you'll find said enlightenment might just take hold and we might see an amazing example of what's possible in humanity. May she see the light of Christianity - the enveloping love of humanity in mutuality, not a herd of sheep to be herded and fleeced. The opposite of the Roman Empire, which of course killed off such an idea - or tried to, though the Vatican lasted well; ironic that the Romans adopted Christianity and the Empire died. Xmas isn't just a holiday Yiwu. It's the celebration of a philosophy and a life. Mqurice
