"the administration has yet to... draw up comprehensive plans to secure sensitive U.S. targets", which makes us all sitting ducks, especially since the alert is generic to the entire country. You may recall that weird-looking Tom Ridge last called for an orange alert when "5 Arab looking" men escaped across the Canadian border into the US. It turned out to be a hoax - read "lie". That's the Bush administration for you. Of course, were anything to go wrong, most of the troops who would otherwise protect us are in Iraq! Bush is not upholding his oath of office by any stretch of the imagination.
