I know the the bit about production drilling vs diamond drilling. I am not an idiot. But I know that what Falco buys is what Noranda owns, wich is/was Fagersta. Fagersta makes inferior quality. I would not buy it. Ditto Secoroc. There are better choices.

I find the world over, mining companies buy who gives the best kickbacks to purchasing agents or who they own. Quality or wear resistance is not the first consideration.

Atlas Copco makes crap. Worst equipment in the business. Give me anything else. In 1945 their stuff was OK. Just about anybody else now makes better. Some stuff I bought off Copco in the 80's was just embarassing. The bits burnt out in inches, and the drills would not drill at all as advertised. We trashed their stuff and got Ingersoll, CP and some jap scrap, which was serviceable. For steels you had better stick with Ajax, as it is Monarch steel and will not break. Fag steel is made from bits of buggle gum and glass bits.
