If the Canadian experience holds true, beef prices will not budge at the retail level. Nor will the grocer see a reduction in his cost. Someone will make a big profit, but it won't be the rancher, who in our case had to kill off a large part of the herd because they couldn't afford to feed them when they couldn't get the meat to market.Possibly the owners of supermarket chains will buy cheap beef, but don't hold your breath looking for cheap T-Bones.
