The rumor I heard was that there was an institutional buy order for almost 3 Million shares. I have no way to confirm this. However, regarding the volatility .. SIRI does this frequently. It will be flat for a while, then make a big move, then pullback. Sometimes more shares of SIRI are traded than the entire NAZ in one day. I've seen days when 250 million shrs of SIRI have traded. TWO HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION SHARES IN ONE DAY IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! Remember, SIRI is still a "pennystock" .. but not for long IMHO. Since March, it has gone from 0.40 cents to $2.65. Today, I think around 48 million were traded. Also Jeff Hirsch of Trader's Almanac gave satellite radio a plug for 2004.
IMHO .. once the investor newsletters start mentioning satellite radio ... the sky's the limit for SIRI.
Motley Fool plugged XMSR last year, and it went from $2 to $24 in one year.
There's one technology newsletter in particular,,, the name escapes me right now ... but if SIRI ever gets mentioned .... WHOO HOO!!!! You'll see a bubble the likes of which have not been seen since 1999.
Best wishes for a prosperous 2004.
