I've been looking into this mad cow thing a bit today. It looks like when you have a government with a philosophy which states it is best to let industry police itself and do what is best for the people, mad cow is pretty much what you get. On Tuesday. On Monday, you get a 300% increase in the amount of allowable mercury in our air. On Sunday, you get a wink and a nod for the Wall Street crooks. On Saturday you get massive giveaways of Federal mineral leasing. On Friday you get big Pharma writing a Medicare privatization bill, or Thursday you get no protect of marine fisheries and on a Wednesday you get no audit trails on Iraq contracting. My New Year's Resolution is to pray much harder that George Bush takes much longer vacations. He's working way too hard.
